Find subscriptions and direct debits

Export a CSV from your bank (ING, Rabobank, ABN AMRO, bunq, Revolut and most EU banks). The payment type column shows which charges are direct debits. Two or three months of charges finds the most.

Files and screenshots are read in this tab only, and account numbers (IBANs) are blanked out first. Close the tab and the scan is gone.

How Dutch subscriptions keep charging you

  1. 01It starts with iDEAL, then renews by direct debitYou pay the first month with iDEAL and agree to a direct debit (incasso) for the rest. From then on the company takes the money itself, so nothing reminds you it's still running.
  2. 02Stopping the payment doesn't cancel the contractBlocking or reversing a direct debit stops one charge, but the contract keeps running and the company can still ask for the money. Cancel with the company to end it for good. Most Dutch contracts can be cancelled online.
  3. 03Charged for something you didn't want? 8 weeks to reverse itYour bank can reverse a direct debit within 8 weeks of the charge, no questions asked (in Dutch: storneren). For a debit you never agreed to, you have 13 months.
